New Information Surrounding tWitch’s Passing Released, Ellen Now Being Blamed

Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s death continues to make headlines as people have been trying to figure out what happened to him. While his close family and friends have been quietly mourning, associates from the dance community have come forward with speculations as to why he would harm himself. The latest to try and shed light on his passing is Youtube star, Todrick Hall.

tWitch family opted to have a private memorial a few weeks ago to honor him, letting fans know that a larger one would be held for him later that would include extended family and friends. As a part of the Los Angeles dance community, tWitch was friends with many different people, including other content creators and performers. The Ellen Degeneres star was a pillar in the community; hosting shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Dirty Dancing.

However, it was his work with Ellen that got him the most success. While much of his time on the show was well received, it was the final years that some believe weighed on him. Despite being an overall positive series, Ellen was marred by accusations that she ran a toxic work environment. While these issues would eventually result in the show going off the air, tWitch defended his boss in her final seasons and said he only felt love and support from Ellen.

“We can’t speak too much legally about it, but I’ll say this, there’s been love,” tWitch told press in 2020. “Obviously, there’s some things to address, but from my standpoint and from countless others, there’s been, love.” This is clear on Ellen’s part, too, as she has posted several memories and stories about tWitch since his passing, clearly deeply affected by his loss.

On May 26, 2022, the Ellen show ended after 19 seasons and over 3,000 episodes. While there were rumors of issues behind the scenes Ellen initially claimed the show was ending because she needed something to challenge her. Eventually Ellen addressed the toxic workspace accusations and offered her sincerest apologies. According to Degeneres, she was unaware of many things that occurred behind the scenes. The Talk show host also stated, those things should have never happened, while also apologizing to the employees who were affected.

Despite Ellen’s claims of being unaware, Buzzfeed spoke with one current and 10 former employees who worked on The Ellen DeGeneres show and called the “Be Kind” mantra as a toxic work place environment. Many of the individuals placed blame on the show’s executive producers and senior managers, but believes it’s ultimately Ellen’s show and she’s the one who needs to take more responsibility.

Columbus Short spoke out immediately after tWitch passed away. The dancer-turned-actor speculated that tWitch could have been reeling from some bad investments. Short alleged that tWitch might have bet his life savings on something or someone and lost big. TMZ and other news media outlets confirmed those allegations were untrue and tWitch and his wife were not facing any financial issues.

While tWitch did leave a note behind, details of the note have remained private. Law enforcement used tWitch’s note to rule the cause of his passing. Since the tragic incident, tWitch’s wife has remained silent for the most part taking to social media twice sharing tributes to her late husband. “To my husband, best friend, babe, chee-chalker, superman, and father of my children I love you forever, and always,” Alison wrote.

Todrick Hall has also come forward with some insight. The Youtube star and tWitch were close friends and collaborated on content for social media. According to Todrick, the scrutiny on the internet is enough to drive anyone over the edge. Hall says that tWitch was under extreme pressure in the last few years to distance himself from Ellen, with many people upset at him for defending her.

Todrick is currently public enemy number one to audiences. The performer has been accused over the years for all running toxic work environments as well and not paying dancers. Fans are currently boycotting his MTV series, The Real Friends of WeHo. “Right now, when I get online some days like right now, if I was in the wrong position of where this abuse would keep happening for years and years and years, there’s only so much a human being can take.”

“I think he was under a lot of pressure,” Hall speculated, concluding with, “People were looking at him like: ‘Why are you still supporting this woman.’”
