‘Thank You for This’: Snoop Dogg Teams With Cash App to Help the Children of His Special Stars Youth Football League

For the global initiative “Giving Tuesday,” Snoop Dogg partnered with Cash App to do something big for the special-needs players of his Special Stars youth football league.

He started the league in 2017, and it’s an offshoot of his Snoop Youth Football League, which had its first season in the fall of 2005. Both leagues serve the greater Los Angeles area.

On Tuesday, the rapper took to Instagram and wrote, “Donate to $SnoopSpecialStars on @cashapp for #givingtuesday and tag me… I’ll repost you on my stories ???.”

Cash App said it will match whatever is donated up to $200,000 within 24 hours of Snoop’s last social media post about the campaign.

People are also asked to share info about the donations by uploading a screenshot of their transactions and including the hashtag “#IWanna ThankMe,” named after Snoop’s 17th studio album, which dropped in August.

Snoop’s Special Stars league, which also has a cheerleading division, was created for children and young adults ages 5-18 who live with a physical or intellectual disability.

“Our goal is to break the negative stigma surrounding Special Needs and to provide support and positive resources within inner city communities and surrounding areas,” reads the Special Stars website.

On Instagram Story, Snoop already began posting some of the transactions that showed people’s donations. Plus, in the comments of his original post, people thanked him for the good work he’s doing and some said donating to special-needs kids is a no-brainer.

“Done and Done Unc,” someone wrote. “I’m with you whateva you do cause you always doing right.”

“Great Work Big dawg???,” another person commented.

“? keep doing what ur doing and making those people smile,” another fan wrote.

And a fourth person wrote,”I ’m bout to cry. I have a brother grown now that wanted to be in stuff like this but they didn’t have stuff like this for him out in Detroit. Thank for this though ??.”
